The Liquid Desert Project
Hillie Wurtman Moyal

Mishpat Mokesh (A Mined Sentence) constitutes one of the core chapters in Judith Sasportas's ongoing project The Liquid Desert Project, initiated in 2013. The project unfolds as a research-poetic journey examining the mapping of spaces and subterranean layers – concealed from view – that trap unprocessed charges and active information. Sasportas examines the ways in which latent information embedded in the chambers of the collective unconscious reverberates in a visible sphere of human action. Her work enters into dialogue with a confined vital life force, frozen in time. The mines are charged with stored energy, awaiting a future moment of activation and transformation.
