Well

The exhibition is created out of ongoing creative material work, moving between simple form and the gravity of elemental materials. At the center of the space is a group of cylindrical bodies made of earth and straw, standing upright in a silent presence. They gather around a bright ring on the floor, beneath a white light fixture that illuminates the entire scene. The image evokes a ritual moment suspended in time. Figures around a circle. The construction of the installation relies on a minimalistic language, yet a sense of depth accumulates within the simplicity. Basic geometric forms encounter primary materials. Earth, plaster, light. Their combination creates a delicate tension between heavy materiality and an almost spiritual presence. Well also acts as an analogy for an inner space. It invites a look downward and inward yet without revealing those depths explicitly. The collaborative work of Assaf Cohen and Shani Reches is deeply rooted in the field of ceramics and created in a studio-based approach.
