Until Eternities

Komar Reuvi and Landoy Hovav

Ten Sefirot of Nothingness:

Their measure is ten which have no end:

Depth of beginning and depth of end,

Depth of good and depth of evil,

Depth of height and depth of bottom,

Depth of east and depth of west,

Depth of north and depth of south.

The Unique Master, God, the Faithful King, rules over all of them from His holy dwelling until eternity of eternities

Sefer Yetzirah- 1,5 (Translated by Aryeh Kaplan)

The exhibition Until Eternities blossoms from the creative harvest of the Eden Beit Midrash for Creation. It invites an intimate, resonant dialogue with the archetypes stirring within the five-dimensional expanse revealed in Sefer Yetzirah.

These axes chart a spiritual-terrestrial topography that stretches toward the infinite. The works converse across metaphorical and physical thresholds, mapping the delicate tension between proximity and distance in the depths of human experience: a Talmudic gate caught in the flames of sacred debate confronts a neon beacon probing the foundations of midrash and aggadah; a heart drained of breath meets a womb functioning as a sanctuary where life and death weave a shared dance; a paper-woven rock hovers suspended in the paradox of falling.

Touching upon the fragile vulnerability of existence and the horizons of the afterlife, the works lay bare the inner strings that set the spaces of being into motion, granting the viewer an unmediated encounter with the hidden unity binding the everyday to the mythic.

The Eden Beit Midrash is an immersive studio for creators, dedicated to rigorous immersion within the wellsprings of Jewish-Israeli culture to ignite profound original artistic creation. It is anchored in the conviction that creative engagement with ancestral sources, giving them new artistic flesh, is an indispensable pulse for the renewal and continuity of Hebrew culture.

The works gathered here were forged throughout the Beit Midrash study programs, born from an intimate inquiry into Talmudic concepts of damages, resurrection, and the world-to-come, alongside esoteric and Hasidic texts illuminating the primordial act of creation.

Alongside the exhibition, Eden will host a weekly series of public workshops throughout the Biennale, led in collaboration with participating artists and Eden facilitators. These gatherings will draw inspiration from both the visual lexicon of the exhibition and the spatial axes charted in the Mishnah of Sefer Yetzirah.
