Located in the heart of Baka, Jerusalem, Matan Sacofsky Studio is an intimate art space dedicated to the work of the Jerusalem-based artist and filmmaker. The British Pool structure was built more than 100 years ago, during the First World War.

It was constructed by the British, who ruled the country at the time, as part of the water system that supplied Jerusalem.

The reservoir in which we are standing collected water from the Al-Arrub springs to the south and conveyed it to a reservoir in Jerusalem’s Romema neighborhood.

Jerusalem’s struggle with water scarcity dates back to ancient times. With insufficient water sources of its own, the city faced a chronic shortage. The solution was to transport water from distant sources.

The Agripas 12 collaborative gallery
was established in April 2004 by 15 artists in a picturesque courtyard in the heart of Jerusalem
as a center for independent and free art.
The Agripas 12 Group – Gallery for Artists
was registered as a non-profit organization in November 2006 and its goals include: holding exhibitions without commercial considerations;
creating a platform for dialogue between artists while helping and respecting each other;
fostering initiatives by artists and groups of artists; promoting Jerusalem as an artistic center.
